How long before it shows on soil sample results ? Did a farm with it (1t ha rate ( calphoss ) soil samples not showing any increase in p . Not convinced think it’s all over priced. maybe it blows away when it’s spread.

My soil indices have risen from using Fibrophos.

And here. I had a grazing field that was stubbornly sitting at zero for P&K. I Applied 675 kg/ha of Finrophos for 2 consecutive Springs and it’s just tested at a shade off 2 & 2.
Also applied that same rate of Fibrophos onto some old parkland grass in February, with the small amount of existing clover really enjoying it. The same fields had Kalfos on a few years back and certainly didn’t see that kind of response. No before & after test results from the Kalfos though, sorry.

I have been producing Nutrient Management Plans for over 15 years and these include nutrient balance calculations and regular soil sampling.

In my experience if the correct amount of Fibrophos is applied then soil indices can be maintained or improved as required.

I have no experience of Tiger Fert or Kalfos.

I was introduced to Fibrophos by two of my consultancy clients when I started my business and at first was sceptical of the product but I now believe it is a very cost effective source of P and K with the bonus of also supplying Magnesium and trace elements.

In 2010 I became an agent for Fibrophos and now supply product across the South of the UK.

It will depend on the area you are in because of haulage reasons, but put simply it will certainly be less money per unit cost than any product from a bag, plus you get a whole lot of secondary and trace elements too.

If it wasn’t better priced, farmers wouldn’t buy it and, because it’s produced 24/7, there would soon be a huge heap of stuff in the way.

Ours was £110 per ton for an artic into Cumbria.0-14-14.
It seems a good product but over 3k for a small heap in the yard of industrial by product:scratchhead:

Has anyone spread tiger fert 0.12.12 over 12 m successfully? My contractor seems unsure about it either that or he wants to keep doing fibrphos!

Has anybody applied big amounts of firbrophos to raise indices quickly? By big I mean lime like quantity of 1 or 2 tonnes of 0-12-12 an acre.

I am not sure why you would want to do this. Apart from the financial implication of spending £500 per hectare just on P & K I think there would be a risk of an antagonistic interaction on other nutrients particularly from the over application of the potash.

I know of some land coming up for sale in the near future. I rented it once upon a time and the P and K indices were both 0. If I were to buy it, which is unlikely anyway, I would need it to be productive and start paying for itself ASAP.
