Field Flints

Hi All,

I am working on a construction site in Dorset where we've got a lot of flint walling and a flint path to complete! Sourcing good field flint is proving harder than one might think!

We have been working with local farmers to purchase/harvest flints but supply is starting to dwindle. Does anyone in and around Dorset/Wiltshite/Hamprshire harvest flint from their fields (or know anyone that does) that we could purchase? Previously, we have even supplied labourers to assist with the picking process. We're looking for two different types; flint to knap and use in our walls and longer 'sausage' shaped flints to go in the flint path.

Hi, we are currently building a house in Hampshire and have loads of flint dug out. We have been using a soil screener to separate out the larger pieces, gravel and top soil. We have field flint in 1 tonne bags. About 20 bags so far but lots more to come. It's a lovely golden colour on the outside. Contact me if you are interested.
