Closest neighbour has agleader. Don't really have many farming friends as most farmers are dicks! Good question though, I'll see what I can find out.
Lol, thanks
You could always ask your neighbour even if it isn’t Trimble the fact that if it can, it would still be a help to other agleader users.
And you may be able, to sell him access to yours for a reasonable price. And let your base station earn you a bit of money, and save him some money on his normal full subscription. . .
thanks.

Fieldbee should study this topic more or run some compatibility tests if they want to sell their product. Odd if the customer needs to figure out this sort of details.

It isn't necessary sufficient if the base sends RTCM 3.3 messages like Fieldbee lists. Many receivers insist RTCM 1007 or RTCM 1008 messages and many do not accept MSM messages at all (the latest products should be fine but many older ones only accept legacy messages).

Thankfully they now are going to test this, and will be releasing a base station that is compatible with at least some Trimble gear, I hope they go one further and tell us what items are compatible in the Trimble range and what we need to do to get the FieldBee base station working on them. (Unlocks we need, or don’t need)
So hopefully no more subscriptions.
The other question I would like to know is, can any of the FieldBee. Items mix and match with other manufacturers items.
So if, I have an older tractor where FieldBee steering motor stuff will not fit on the steering wheel but Trimble or others do, can a FieldBee roof receiver talk to other steering systems. With their software so we can just use tablets with their software. Their roof receiver but a compatible steering motor that maybe from another maker.
the ability to open their system up to multiple steering motors will enlarge their market with existing users of other systems that don’t want to start from scratch when they have stuff already but FieldBee don’t support their tractors steering wheel.
So the farmer has an old receiver non RTK and so look to update to a FieldBee one, but FieldBee don’t support their tractor but the farmer has say an old Trimble side mounted motor that runs on the steering wheel edge can the FieldBee receiver with a tablet running FieldBee software talk to the older Trimble steering motor?

then fieldbee can do a configuration app that lets farmers select existing tech from other makers they own, and the app designs the minimum kit that FieldBee can supply that gives the outcome the farmer selects ie the different levels of GPS accuracy they require. All the way up to a kit including a base station, And full RTK.

This would require them to do testing on other makers steering kits receivers etc but once done at least with the more popular kit out there, it would make it simple for new users to adapt to FieldBee kit without ripping out all their existing kit.

I'm only a novice, but expecting FBee to talk to 3rd party steering motors etc is a big ask. However, I'd like to see a FBee receiver outputting an RTK-accuracy NMEA signal that a trimble or other display could then use as normal without any high-accuracy unlocks. I'm using a very simplified version off this principle when I feed an RTX-accuracy signal to an EZ500 using TSIP from a 750.

The issue is most of the systems don;t support nmea for steering, so if u want to steer with them you have to use the internal GNSS receiver anyway

The Trimble GFX-750™ Display is running on an android operating system just like the FieldBee software does, so it’s not totally impossible that you can swop out a Trimble screen with a FieldBee powered tablet, as it also runs on android, and if Trimble’s android tablet is talking to the steering, it’s not impossible that the FieldBee tablet can also talk to the Trimble steering.

so while that’s not a guarantee of compatibility, they are all in the same wheel house.
Let’s face it, it’s £350 for a good android tablet that can run a FieldBee system and software or a £800 plus costing Trimble one. That have big subscriptions attached to them. You by hardware and they charge a fortune to unlock all that it can do.
Roll on FieldBee where you get what you pay for no hidden extras.
if they can get someone in the uk to help with installs they will win big.

My autosteer and basestation hopefully arriving tomorrow. Tablet has 6gb ram. Hopefully enough.

That's interesting about using lorap instead of wifi. My house is no where near some outfarms so going to mount basestation on tripod. Hope it goes well! 🤠🤠
