Fieldfares

Field fares here in good numbers . They like the stubble turnip fields as the sheep graze them .
Also pigeons on rape like we’ve never seen before . Wonder if the lack of acorns this year has made them start early on rape .

Yep, decimated several fields of OSR locally..... and my BB mix.... :(

As you say some mahooosive pigeon flocks about.

Daughter is happy as she loves shooting and eating them, but personally, I can leave cabbage flavoured pigeon breasts, it's like the taint you can taste on lamb off turnips ;)

not seen a field fare or redwing yet leices.
I can only think you haven't been looking, they arrived at least a month ago. They caught me out a bit or at least made me realise how far behind I had got with things. I was thinking my apples that were still on the trees were safe enough as the varieties left didn't have a habit of falling off. Then the fieldfares turned up. (they eat apples if you weren't aware)
