Hi All,

As we now do as a matter of course, just a sneaky heads up especially for Team FF!

fieldmargin is now available to use direct from your computer - head to http://notes.fieldmargin.com and log straight in if you have an account or create a new one if you're new.

Following feedback people found drawing things is best done with a mouse whilst making notes was best in the field.

We are also on iphones and androids. If anyone missed those announcements.

SOME RELATED QUESTIONS FOR WHAT WE BUILD NEXT.

How many of you have important maps that are only in paper format? Drainage maps or title deeds or something like that?

Would you like to be able to digitise these and keep them safe or even refer to them on the go?

As ever, contact me directly with any feedback or questions.

So what happens now? I have an aerial photograph up - a bit elderly and not showing current boundaries.

We use Google satellite imagery - the images can be quite old in rural areas. We are looking at others - down the line we could even have an upgrade for daily and weekly imagery.

www.fieldmargin.com can be used to keep notes on things that have been done and things that need doing, pinned right on the map so there is no confusion.
Your whole team (permanent, contracting, advisors and temporary) can be granted access to see all field names, make and share notes. You can attach photos and set reminders too.

Everyone kept in the loop with our family of apps or sit down and take some time to draw things more accurately in front of the computer.

I would love to hear what tasks you could use fieldmargin for in its current form or things we could add to make it more useful.

For instance we have been told we are a great tool for making notes of where Blackgrass has been seen, keeping a note of what's been drilled/sprayed in what concentrations, noting little tasks that need doing, keeping record of animal counts or making communication slicker and less prone to confusion.

We are making things with the average farmer in mind and trying to leave more time to get on with what needs doing on farm.
