Fight fire with fire ?

Who’s in the war @Clive? As I see it, the population gets fed whichever way. If they eat veggie sausages then the soya, tomato, sugar, rapeseed, wheat and onion farmers benefit. If they eat meat, the pig farmers do. Are you really telling us that all us farmers should side with the latter and compromise the former?

Nothing wrong with personal choice.

However the Government, the Education System, Politicians, Charities, Media, Climate Lobby and UN are involved.

Most of the reasons given to justify the move away from meat are massively hypocritical .. such as Billionaires using Space for tourism, Establishment flying to "Climate Conferencese in private jets .. whilst a cow cannot fart.

Livestock farming is being targetted as a means to weaken and destroy UK farming.

It's a staged argument put forward by political hypocrites who couldn't give a monkey's about the environment.

I would be interested to find out what you spend 95% of your time doing to earn money .. whatever it is I suggest it's banned, we'll get whatever service is provided from a foreign source cheaper.

That's the one thing I am keen to be debated - I have no greater goal in all of this than to see the truth being written. The whole truth, that is, not some disingenuous rubbish that will embarrass meat producers at the first test of scrutiny.

All arguments can be countered depending on the context ..

The only "Truth" involved is the fact there are a myriad of possible solutions to Climate Gases that could be taken in a very short period of time .. such as reducing foreign holidays and reducing commuting to London.

On that we can agree, and I'd add the 'fast fashion' fad too - a huge amount of our planet's resources go into producing clothes that are worn once and then thrown away.

Seems to me whenever Clive comes up with a good idea all you lot want to do is pull it to bits strokers.

I think it shows once again, that everything's complicated. We don't know if it was a 'good idea' we have no way of measuring its success. Its possible that it has a back fire effect and people use it to attack the industry.
I'm not sure sausage was the best idea, ever heard the saying 'don't want to know how the sausage is made'? Perhaps the American version, steak and eggs would be better? Which brings me to the fact that 7 pages in and I don't think anyone's mentioned the eggs in the OP yet. Surely they are as natural as you can get? But then you can get into arguments over factory farming, caged eggs etc. Nothings simple.

Personally i don't think anyone uses social media, especially Twitter, to educate themselves. They go online to argue and take sides, probably because they've nothing better to do. There's a lot of research that suggests debunking myths with facts simply doesn't work.
That's why in 2019 some people still believe the earth is flat and not vaccinating your kids is a good idea.

The media has a lot to answer for, for promoting myths, half truths and statistics that have been manipulated.
Much like I can't find any footage of your PM at the football last Saturday, eh?:LOL:

Ive read all the replies. This is my point of view.
Is the vegan threat as as bad as some are making out? i dont think so. My local butcher shop is busier than ever. In fact one in the southeast has now started selling veggie burgers and vegan burgers! They say why turn customers away if one of the family is non meat eating.
We are all looking at these radical vegan posts as farmers hence we notice them more. It would be interesting to have a poll of non farmers to see if they actually take any notice of the radical vegan posts? I doubt they do.
I strongly disagree with lying juts ''cos they do''.
There are millions of non farmers so if they were to questions the lies from our side then they would far out weigh those in farming that can defend.
I like the earlier post about farmers produce products that vegans and veggie's eat...
As for the answer, well i dont know, we cant sit back and do nothing but lying isnt the answer no matter how small it is. Look at Pritti Patel. She was sacked for lying to the then PM. Now she is Home Secretary .... News and headlines are short lived in this modern world.
My only suggestion is for the NFU to be better at Social media... But that ship/thread has long since sailed
