Final N - Dry

Missed any meaningful rain over the last couple of weeks and no rain forecasted for the month ahead, is it a worthwhile investment applying the final split? or will most of it just be immobile or volatilise? Interested to hear everyone's current thinking.

The dew will dissolve it.

Rain when it does arrive will make good use of it. We’ve got a while until harvest yet.

If it stays dry then I guess the N will just be there for the crops in the autumn to pick up.

Did the same here except we gave it 1 1/4 cwt/ac

That's 54 kg N / ha for the young ones
Looks like we did right putting that last dose on , tho my brother did tell me it was to windy to spread yesterday, in my book it was better on the ground before any rain than to wait for a perfect spreading day.

But 5 mm so far today, gratefully received!!!!!!!

I started at 5 this morning and have been spreading through wind and rain to get it on but I'm glad I did. We've had 7mm today and granuals I applied this am have gone.
Id have liked to have had the final dose on wheat sooner but I cut it back because if it had stayed dried what I had already applied would have been plenty.

I have still cut back 20-30 kgN/ha as it is.
