The viewpoint of the camera taking the image shown on the truck is on the left side of the road looking down the solid white line, the same as the perspective of the photograph. The system must come with it's own drone...

Knowing my luck I would see the road clear on the screen but meet a car heading towards me when I overtake because it was on a different channel.

Land Rover have had a similar option for a while now for making your trailer see through, you get to see the sides of the trailer as markers, then a clear view to the rear. As one who relies on the assistance of verbal guidance "yes,no, left hand down, I mean er right, whoa, stop,oh sh*t !" , I think it's a good idea.
