Yes£35 an hour. Is that a man, tractor and spreader? Diesel? How can they possibly make a margin at that? In my part of the world contractors charge a lot more than that.

How far will they travel? It's £50 for tractor, driver and 15 tonne spreader here. Not sure I would want to do it for less.
I very much doubt it!Spent a little while working out how much it would cost me to go collect fym from my nearest dairy farm. Made more sense to build my own dairy!
Can be hauled for cheap. Move it in bulk walking floor trailers up here. Haulage companies are quiet. Might get a good deal.Spent a little while working out how much it would cost me to go collect fym from my nearest dairy farm. Made more sense to build my own dairy!
But your 10,000 tonne pile of muck would have £80,000 of nutrients would it not?
Doubt it
Rolling grass this evening. You can see where we went round a wet patch with the pig slurryView attachment 870625
Did mine about two weeks ago or more , if we had not rolled when we did would be waste of time now land like Concrete now , desperate for a wet day .Not worth going round our fields with a roller at the mo.... it's just bouncing over the lumps as it's so hard. Really need a good roll though as the cows made a fair mess in the autumn. You've had some rain I take it?
Difficult year to make comparisons as it’s depended on how wet the field has been .
My best at the moment is Costello drilled after maize on a dry field . Only had some manganese up to now. No herbicide or fungicide yet .View attachment 870946View attachment 870947
Thanks . Just walking a field of W barley ( Orwell , that had a good mucking before drilling. Too wet for an autumn herbicide so a bit dirty, but will need a growth reg soonThere’s a bit of mystery when it comes to muck, but as you can see from @silverfox pictures there is definitely a benefit from it that lasts over several years.
Cracking field of wheat by the way. Haven’t seen one that decent this year. If only it was as easy as just doing the nutrient value in one year.
