Finding Alkathene water pipe

A pair of dowseing rods is the cheapest option.

They may be cheap but there is not one single jot of scientific evidence that they work (just like, homeopathy, accupuncture and the rest) despite the numbers of people who will no doubt rush to claim that they do.

Various controlled scientific studies over the last hundred years have repeatedly found that water dowsing does not work. For instance, 30 "expert" dowsers were invited to Kassel, Germany in 1990 to have their abilities tested in a study organized by James Randi. Pipes carrying flowing water were buried underground at known locations and the dowsers were tested as to their ability to determine if water was flowing through the pipes. All failed to do better than random guessing.

Just ran my rods over your post and they signalled nothing of any consequence to see here.

Pure #ollocks . Have found many pipes . We have also had 2 boreholes sunk and the dowser found water both times .

When Ralph Wilkins came looking for our potential bore hole site he looked in the field gate and said it was down there... Sure enough when he put the drilling rig down there it was ?[emoji848]

Regular as clockwork. How many times do you need to be told there is good scientific evidence. As for the tests you referred to they where seriously flawed and reported as such at the time. You certainly not going to convince farmers that it does not work as a high proportion use there ability to detect drains on a regular basis.

Perhaps the OP has never tried dowsing. If you have a rough idea where the pipe could be half an hour wandering with a couple of welding rods or whatever isn't going to cost anything. You can do it after dark with a head torch and no one will see you, might find you have the "power". ;)

I tried years ago with no success, but will try again, you never know, the force maybe with me now.

Have you ever tried it yourself?

If you could run some wire etc inside, attach the genny to it then you can pick it up with the cat scanner.

Exactly this. We bought 50m of 10mm earth cable from screwfix for about £40. Inserted up a 25mm mdpe water pipe and connected genny to it. Traced with the cat perfect. Just dig a hole every 50m and re insert cable and trace again.
