Finning CAT

I hear a lot of bad press about Cat parts and how unhelpful they are but I needed parts 4.30 yesterday afternoon. Called our local branch, they emailed me a parts list straight over whilst I was on the phone. Gave him the numbers, all in stock at their UK distribution centre at Cannock. Took a card payment over the phone at the parts were on the doorstep at 8.30 this morning, free delivery.

In my opinion that knocks the socks off any agri dealers I know of. They never have stock, and next day deliveries always have to go to the dealer and cannot be sent straight to the customer. I don't have time to be running around after parts so thats another day and another lot of postage before I get the bits. Well impressed with CAT. Can't understand why other manufacturers can't ship directly to consumers.

Valtra is best by a mile in here. Most of the parts are available at dealer depots 24/7 and lightning fast delivery from factory within 12 hours for parts that aren't available at dealers. 😅

My experience is Finning are good for parts, generally good availability and good people in their parts departments, but the cost of CAT pats can be eye watering. Often difficult to find after market CAT parts, not impossible but usually lead time of aftermarket parts make them unviable in a breakdown situation.

My experience with them is so bad I’d never have anything to do with them again ever.they were dreadful and treated me disgracefully.in contrast to watling jcb in Wymondham this morning where I had first class treatment

Have a challenger 765 that needed injector cups replacing,{diesel in coolant} local Cat agri didn't have the extractor tool, so was told to get in touch with Finnings. They wanted £500.00 to come out and quote.{basically to tell me what I already new} before they would do the job.
Ended up buying the tool from the US, and the parts from Finnings and doing it myself for not much more than £500.00!!

I send almost all my orders direct from suppliers to customers, often can be 2 or 3 different suppliers used to make the order up. There's little point wasting my own time packing my own stock up and paying shipping only to then pay shipping again to restock it!

A lot of manufactures can and do ship direct the dealer just chooses not to offer this service.
