Fireworks

Beyond credibility, some mental dwarves have taken it into their heads to celebrate something or other by actually letting off fireworks at a venue just across the fields from here tonight!

Just shows how utterly out of touch with the reality of life are some lame brained people.

Same in this village. I think you would have to be utterly mental to let anything off at the moment.

People are totally divorced from practicalities these days, particularly of a country nature. If you went and remonstrated they'd look at you blankly, it will not have crossed their mind that it hasn't rained for weeks if not months, the country is tinder dry and fireworks rain bits of hot stuff all over the place. In their urban world they've had week after week of glorious BBQ weather, and now Deb and Steve are getting married in the country and whats more natural than a few fireworks to celebrate? What do you mean, that field of yellow stuff is barley and might catch fire? How was I to know?

There is no need for common sense anymore as there are risk assessments and health and safety!
