From what I hear the guy that posted the 43k loss has a personal vendetta against a few people. They made nearly 100k profit. Maths can't of been the guys best subject at school.
If you read what he said the British ploughing championships made the loss covered up by the profit made by hosting the world ploughing championships. No idea if it's right or wrong just pointing out what was said.

It would be impossible to split the event. The nationals were held on Thursday and Friday so there would be a lot less visitors than if they were held on the Saturday and Sunday as normal. Also the national is usually later in the year when the farming community usually have a bit more time. Even if he was right is it not good business to end up with 100k profit?

I am an honorary member, they know my furrow is straight.

Carole wanders off hoping they all take to DD in the not to distant future

The mind boggles :D:D:D but straight enough to raise a smile at least!

Sort yer spellin out Carole - you are only a plowman over the pond. Generally ploughmen over here.
Just wondering if that magnificent all encompassing machine you have for intercepting foul language now intercepted your spelling of Ploughmen in a similar way. :scratchhead::D:D

Straight ploughmen seem to be a minority movement now! :D

Sadly my laptop spelling assistant seems to be from the land of Trump, turning straight honest ploughmen into plowmen at the turn of a share.

I do wonder sometimes if that in the land of 'plough', if the fake news which Mr Trump likes to refer is alive and well, or simply journalistic flair. :D

No idea what that's all about but maybe a surprising opening post.

You sound like the sort I avoid down the local :)
Maybe it is a surprising opening post, BUT I happen to know this member from another life ( as I have zero interest in competitive ploughing), and I can assure you that he is one of the most upright , respectable men I have ever met!:)
