I bought my wife a fitbit charge 2 for her birthday and she loves it.
It will only sinc with certain phones or tablets , so go on fitbit website and check compatibility, luckily wife's sinc'd with her tablet after we worked out the phone wasn't supported !

Mrs bg is addicted to her fitbit charge 2. Not unusual for her to be walking around the house to get her steps up. :D

1st one didn't work properly, immediately replaced by john lewis. No problems since.

Wife’s is at end of month and I was feeling sorted for a present as I knew she wanted the Fitbit ionic, turns out she can’t wait and came back with one Friday :( but she’s made up with it, she’s had a standard Fitbit for few years. I’m not into them but that sounds like a good one.

I think all smartwatches do the fitness thing. Depends on how much money you want to spend really. Fitbit is good but hardly stylish. Garmin do a nice one. Then there's the Android and Apple watches that pair with smartphones. If she has a phone that runs on Android, get an Android watch. If Apple then….

Don't get a 46mm watch for her unless she is an amazonian body-builder. 36 to 42mm maximum for the ladies with a fancy bracelet strap to match.

Remember that the faces of these watches, the ones in the last link, are all customisable for different tastes, styles and occasions. The bezels are physical and fixed/solid. The TAG/Heuer is an odd one because, from memory, there is a physical marked outer bezel and some of the styles have an almost identical digital bezel marking running inside the face, which is duplication as if the face designers were not aware of what the case designers were doing. Perhaps they have changed this by now? Anyhow Heuer smart watches run from £1000 up to around £5000. I wouldn't even consider one over £2500 and would buy a quality mechanical watch instead at those prices. Each to their own though. Apple watches are quite expensive enough, from about £350 if I remember correctly.
As I said, the face is entirely customisable on these things, although unless activated they are all unlit black most of the time. What makes them is the strap and bezel/case. The strap should be easily changeable so that it can be changed to match her dress/outfit/handbag, and is something that can be added to as future presents if you buy the right watch in the first place.

Put a lot of time and effort into finding the right watch. Because she's worth it.

Got the wife a fitbit for her birthday back in Nov 2016 by Feb 2017 it was not downloading data to iphone so John Lewis swapped for another identical fitbit. It lasted 6 weeks before it developed the same problem. Got onto fitbit who declared it was an Iphone upgrade problem and that iphone 5 not supported. Advised to buy a new Iphone or we could have a 50% refund on the Fitbit. I told them in no uncertain manner where they could stick there most generous offer and got 100% refund from John Lewis. I believe John Lewis have now changed there refund policy so dont get caught out. The wife has now got a Nokia Steel HR which has more functions and more important a very long battery life between recharging. Still had downloading problems after a few weeks but that was caused by Nokia rewriting programs but after customer uproar it seems like the original functionality of the watch has been restored and it has be working perfectly. Nokia have since sold it back to one of the original partners.

I got a Fitbit on Sunday (Father’s Day present!) I didn’t wear it in a Sunday as I left it charging and forgot to put it on, so Monday was the first day. By 8am this morning (Wednesday) it was buzzing at me to tell me I’d earned a “Marathon” trophy for walking 42km. Not bad in just over two days...!!

I lost mine recently. Turns out I'd left it in a work shorts pocket and it went through the wash. Gave it a charge up and it survived fine. Looks like new again as it turns out.

Never did get a chance to get the step count, after the spin cycle, as the battery went flat whilst it was "lost"....oh well, might have missed a "marathon on seven continents" badge or something.

Just under 164,000 steps for my first full week of owning a Fitbit. Not sure I’ll better this as it’s been an extreme few days
