so who uses what ? and do you find it useful / motivational ?

I have had a fitbit on for 2 years now and I reckon the data that is building might be useful in the future to track changes in my health, its also a constant reminder to do a bit more and eat / drink a bit less ?

The sleep tracking is particularly interesting I think and has made me make changes

Tried an apple watch but constant need to charge every night was annoying and made the sleep tracker on that pointless

anyone else wired up ?

What changes has it made you make Clive?

I spend a lot of time in the office so it made me realise some days just how few steps I did, started making an effort to take dog for a walk at lunch or before / after work as a result. It kind of makes me feel like I failed if don't hit the targets so it does push me to get off my as and do it !

Sleep track has also encouraged me to get to bed a bit earlier as it pointed out that I was not getting anything like the average sleep hours I should for me age

I also have their connected scales which have been great keeping track of my recent run up to the triathlon etc and as I like targets helped me drop my body fat % and weight a bit

I use a £17 Mi-band from flee bay, Android app to accompany was £2.12 and it does steps, sleep and reminds me to get up from the desk & move every hour. Syncs to the phone automatically etc.
Its a bit manual with making adjustments to the app for additional exercise like cycling that doesn`t register but thats far outweighed by a battery life of about 2 to 3 weeks!

Bought a Nokia Steel HR for the better half over a year ago and has been really good including heart rate as well as steps sleep etc. Best bit is battery life of approx a month at a time. Previous fitbit was rubbish refusing to sync after a while. replacement developed the same problem so got a refund (thanks John Lewiss fitbit refused). Withings originally sold the watch to Nokia but after Nokia support complaints the original management have bought it back and rebranded it Withings Steel HR.

I use an Oura ring, it's about the best for tracking sleep, quality and time. Good sleep is really important for health and recovery.

It also tracks activity as well but currently I only wear it at night

I was using a fitbit for a while but if I was in the telehandler all day it would register almost every turn of the steering wheel. 10k steps in a day was a bit far fetched when all I had done was walk from van to telehandler and back again.

I personally won't use these devices. I don't want companies harvesting data related to when I sleep, sit, lie or any of the above.

what possible use do you think that data has to them ?

When it come to data people really do think they are more important then they actually are
