Fitting Pedestrian doors into concrete panels

Doing it for the kids

As above, I'm finalising plans for a shed and need to organise lower cladding.

concrete panels to 3 sides but for the front side, next to the RSD's I need to fit Ped doors for access.

I can either do it in block work or shorter panels with doors at one end.

block work is not as strong and takes longer, but can be built around the door easier.

Panels will be quicker (and cheaper?) but will need a steel in deep enough to take them, larger margin for error.

I am not sure how to neatly and securely fit a Ped door to a concrete panel / steel, which will be stronger and easier long term?

I presume you are using the rsj with the roller shutter s guide for one side of the pedestrian door and you will then need a steel setting on the other side to hold the pedestrian door frame and this will also support the shorter concrete panel. Pedestrian doors opening outwards will be more weatherproof. My new build has a 1m wide by 2.1m tall gap above finished floor level for the pedestrian door.

Flashing will need altering but I understand that an angle iron frame will slot into the gap from the outside.

Or just bolt in some steel box lugs to pack out to the door fixing points, leave door flush to outside or inside, your choice, and trim to fill remaining bit of rsj web.

RSJ’s both sides, one hold roller door, one holds panel, as above ?? Then weld flat steel inside the RSJ to bolt your doorto
