Fittings to go on to a Thames Water stop cock?

Have residential house with a leak in the garden that's fed from an (un metered) TW stop cock in the road.

the pipe has been repaired twice before, I am done with it so we are fitting a new one.

we want to connect it back as close the TW stop cock as we can.

we either tap into the pipe in the verge and use a connector from plastic to plastic or we go back to the stop cock box (black lid job) and try and connect directly off the back of their fitting.

does anyone know what fittings these may be? my guy thinks its a brass 15mm but I am not convinced!

how old?

Hard to say but within the last 20-30 yrs? Not since my watch at least.

proper black lid, white tube affair which they still use today. Pre meter fittings as standard though.

black pipe in the garden may not relate to the pipe out of the meter less box though

is it a plastic or brass tap ? if its in a white tube that is relativly new so will be 25mm mdpe

cant see much down the tube, plastic hex end which we have struggled to use to turn the water off.

my money is on 25 mm too but how does that fit onto the tube part?!

would a standard 25mm plasson connector do the job?

What water boards ten to do is the stop cock comes with 25mdpe attached and the a adaptor connector to whatever your in coming main, the hex nut is 27mm and you wont turn it ,dig around and you will find a blue lever next to it ,the hex nut gets removed to put a meter in ,but you may have an old brass tap down there with the head off, thus you cant turn it because its seized,

Sounds like you have a meter box fitted (without meter by the sounds of it) so will be 25mm blue coming out of it and then likely an adapter to whatever you're existing pipe is. Just hope there's enough pipe coming out the box to remove fitting to connect you're pipe onto it unless you know how to get pipe back out of push fitting on box.

just use what the water board use for fittings ,you can leave the fixing cap ,locking ring and insert there, and just change the fitting to a straight 25mm coupling

Be careful there is not a short length of pipe from the stop cock then a non return valve then pipe away to house , This would be a common set up with a 25 mm pipe in between the 2
The water board N R V are quite expensive If you damage them with the digger

It would still work but better to join at your side of NRV if there is one there.
It would be very close to stop cock anyway
The link between the 2 here is1.5 inch and the pipe away from NRV is 2 inch
