Flail mower/topper recommendations

Looking to get a flail mower for the back of the tractor. Our tractor is only 80hp so no heavy gear please!

Mowing up to 60 acres (but not all in one day!)

What brands and models do you recommend?

Orsi are good.

Cabe if you’re smashing scrub upto 4” no bother.

Maschio are decent for general purpose.

Don’t bother with bomford, McConnell or spearhead. Absolute pants.

Vigolo from Italy are great. Use to be supplied by Vogel-Noot.

whatever make you get, get one with a full-width roller on back, you don't scalp ground. used both and the ones on skids are useless in my opinion. I've got a McConnel Merlin Xtreme 2.8 and never had to put a spanner on it in 8yrs. only to replace damaged flails when a large stone went through it on a job, and so easy to drive in 1000E PTO.

Have a Kuhn we have had for 15 years and still looks as good as new and will cut bonnet high brambles or horse paddocks equally as well

Just put my KRM on again today, one of the first bits of kit I bought when I first started nearly 15 years ago. Given very little issues considering what I’ve put it through and put through it

KRM (made by falc) are awesome. I've got one I keep for myself. Been well used and abused and keeps coming back for more

I think Major are good enough for the OP. I give mine some stick on plenty of HP fro it and and it takes it well for a cheap machine.

I had an INO it was an ok machine but the belt assembly was total crap, sold it before I had a mental breakdown. I’m looking at a new maschio
