What’s a good size for the job? Any recommendations for a second hand tractor? Do they tend to run at 1000 pot ?

Where exactly is the reach measured from?It depends on the reach you need 4m to 9 m will make a massive difference to the tractor you need
I use a 3m flail on a 85 horse jd handles it with ease will cut reeds small bushes gorse bramble fern etc slower you go the better the finishWell the terrain is flat, and it’s just farm farm use, I’m not intending going out contracting.
I’ve been having a bit of a look and a tractor of 80-100hp would probably do. On another thread, folks were extolling the virtues of the MF390: looks nice and basic.
Thanks, but I’m talking hedge cutters.I use a 3m flail on a 85 horse jd handles it with ease will cut reeds small bushes gorse bramble fern etc slower you go the better the finish
Hedge cutters. Sorry. Are you asking about hedge cutters, or flail toppers to cut grass?
yes. Sorry.or are you talking hedge cutters
Getting more "informative" all the time....... I was thinking flail toppers!!Ah well, that was informative!
Thanks for that.Oh and I would say 5 to 6m reach is a fairly standard farmers machine
