Well the terrain is flat, and it’s just farm farm use, I’m not intending going out contracting.

I’ve been having a bit of a look and a tractor of 80-100hp would probably do. On another thread, folks were extolling the virtues of the MF390: looks nice and basic.

I use a 3m flail on a 85 horse jd handles it with ease will cut reeds small bushes gorse bramble fern etc slower you go the better the finish

Most of the ones I’ve used (older machines) are 540 so a 1000 or 540 eco on the tractor is handy. I think 6 cylinder machines are more stable and I would prefer to have a clutchless shuttle as you can do lots of reversing......
I enjoyed using a case 5130 as much as anything else.

We run one just over 6m. We don’t cut a farm where I don’t need all the reach, I would like more. You’ll find the extra reach handy when staggering your wheel marks as well. I run one on 150 horse 6cyl and wouldn’t want it on a smaller tractor.
