Flat deck verses multi poultry houses

Hi wondered what peoples thoughts are on flat deck poultry house system verses multi tier? Its for a proposed 6000 free range organic layers unit in a static building, all the equipment sales reps want to sell multi tier, just appears to be twice the price! Do the benefits of multi tier outway the extra cost? Thanks

So 200 k just for the equipment ? and groundwork and building on top ,
is a 6000 organic bird house the same size as a 9000 bird conventional house ? (6 birds per m2 opposed to 9 per m2 in conventional)
You could see if Newquip have any second hand flat deck system's available , would be a big saving of new price

Have had one quote of £200,000 for the equipment plus building
I know there is a 3000 bird organic unit man did alot himself ie fencing digging out etc and was on his farm talking to him bout it all in all equipment and house + Fencing and wire it cost 170000 euro and he had the costing all wrote out in a diary so it's not far off 60 euro a bird .With that amount of birds a flat deck is ideal for you

We have 18000 free range organic birds in sheds of 3000 all on flat deck systems we've never had multitear so can't compare much but the flat deck works well for us. Only difference is you have a lot more muck to take out at turnaround. If it was me I'd be inclined to look for a 2nd hand flat deck.

No we are with of&f don't you need to leave big gaps between flocks with soil association?
We are in Dumfriesshire with heavy clay land.
