Floaters

I thought all people get these from time to time. I first noticed them 20 odd years ago but my optician was not concerned and said it is a sign of age.
So Wednesday , I had 30 minutes previously had my Covid booster and was driving home when a very large one appeared ( I am of course talking eye floaters 😂)
It appeared suddenly like a large snake coming up into my vision, and if I had been in a position to stop I would have done so, as I only had a mile to go I drove steadily home, during which time it changed drastically into a mesh like structure across my left eye vision.
Having just had the jab I tried my local surgery to get someone to look at it, but I think the phones were off the hook, so ended up going to A&E. after 3 hours finally doctor took one look and asked me to return to see the eye clinic first thing next day.
The consultant was very good gave me a very thorough check over and announced nothing to worry about this time, but he did explain what had happened and it was very important to seek assistance as blindness can occur quickly.
Apparently a minute blood vessel on the back of the eye had come loose then ruptured . Luckily the bleeding had stopped fairly quickly. However he said that if it had not stopped and not been treated within 24 hours severe damage would be the result.

In this situation it is critical if you notice a lack of vision building in the corner of the eye, seek help urgently

There have, apparently, been quite a number of various adverse events affecting eyes after the vaccination. Not saying it is related but could be

Probably should be reported as a Yellow Card event, so that similar reports can be collated, which I believe that you can do yourself

I would agree that it should be reported, but have done a bit of looking, and nearly all comments I have seen refer to one or two minor spots appearing, which for many older people is extremely common. Some of these reports were several weeks after the jab!
I posted purely because i had never had such an episode and may not have worried too much if it was not the timing.
Like so many on here I do not like troubling doctors etc and possibly may have ignored a minor eye bleed. I was unaware it was a bleed and the dangers, until he explained, which made perfect sense.
Sadly there has been so much hype created by these jabs that a minor issue as mine has turned outto be, can be portrayed as life threatening by some out there😂

As above I would echo the comments already made. If you experience any kind of vision issue get to A and E pronto as time is key. Some optometrists may also we worth asking as they have nifty gear and will spot anything out of place very readily. Don't wait for a GP appointment, you could try MIU as some of them have pretty good equipment for eyes but not all.

And flashing lights?
Wife had them. Straight to a and e diagnosed as posteria vitreous detachment. The gel lining on the retina detaches. Apparently the floaters and lights are always there but the brain dials them out until something changes and the brain has ti get used to it. No treatment and slightly more risk of retinal damage in the future. Apparently quite common with age and the second case the specialist had seen that day.

That sounds horrible. If you google reporting covid booster side effects, it will come up with the MRHA page and has a link in it. I have not used it.
I would think as a non expert that shingles could very well be related to the jab
