Flowfit pipes

Has anybody any experience of hydraulic pipes made by flowfit on the internet. Need a lot of hoses making up for a sprayer rebuild and they seem a lot cheaper then local firms.
Many thanks Paul

No experience but have you priced up a crimper and parts? We brought one a few years ago and wish we’d done it ages ago.

Haven't priced one up for a long time, was put off last time by the fact nearly all machines have different fittings and thought it would cost a lot initially.

While it's handy having a crimping machine, it gets very annoying having it and still having to go to a shop because you've not got the one connection you need.

I've only bought odds and sods from them. They're fine. Not hoses admittedly.

I much prefer to get my hoses made up locally, as its just way more convenient as I get them done then and there, and issues we try and sort out at the counter. Unless you know exactly what you need and can specify it exactly so there are no confusion or issues. Otherwise you could be wasting time, shuffling stuff back and forth with couriers

Local bods for me are mucho £££ - especially if you have it done while you wait & the service can be hit & miss. I've spent a lot of time in there trying to get them to understand what's needed - anything other than straight BSPP swivels seems to confuse them. I use them if I am desperate, otherwise it's the likes of Flowfit for me.

I think it very much depends on your local hydraulics guys. For me it’s - Eastern Hose & Hydraulic - around the other side of Ipswich from me but they are top class and deal with lots of farmers, all the local dealers use them too, so they know the score. We have a good relationship and the prices are very fair. Even up against online.

Id get pipes made with flowfit all the time and find it far better than getting them made locally and at half the price too. Id usally measure up exactly what i need with rope and pick through exactly what rotation i want the fitting im in ireland i ordered pipes monday and had them on wedenesday with free shipping.

Thanks for all the replies, going to give them a go. It does annoy me a bit that non of my local firms can get near on price. Have a couple of very good firms but they just aren't interested in competing.

its not in the "book" sot to speak but re rotation,
with the 2 piece fittings , if you clamp vice grips or the likes to the outside ferrule you can turn the pipe to the rotation degree you need, i wouldn't be turning it 360 like but ive often done it on newly made pipes to get the exact fit if im out a bit times iykwim.

I grease the fitting before crimping, that way if rotation is needed, you can twist/rotate the fitting inside the hose. :)
