Flu / Covid

I got a text fortnight ago inviting me to book a Pneumococcal jab, I'd missed a Flu jab invite earlier not realising it ran out in 7 days, when I got the Pneumo text I thought it was just another name for Flu.

Went yesterday and said I'm here for flu jab, she says 'no, you're here for pneumo jab, but I can do both if we have enough stock' , came back with last one in the building apparently. So one jab in each arm.

In conversation I asked her about Covid booster, she said 'It's a minimum of 6 months after the last one, we're not allowed to give it even one day before'.

I got both my flu jab (left shoulder) and covid top up jab (Right shoulder ) done at the same time . First , they offered me slots quite a few miles from home , which I ignored and eventually I was given a slot very locally . The actual time for the jabs was minimal , but the queue to get to the desk was two or three deep , three sides of a big yard , and a few outside as well . Considering I was given a 10 minute slot it seemed a bit odd . And I thought block booking was well gone away . Seems not in this case . I had no after effects at all - not even a slightly sore shoulder .

From what Mrs BnG tells me you can have booster and flu jab at the same time, but if you have them singularly you should have them a week apart.
Only what I'm told and have learnt not to argue

Had my booster & flu jab both together last week Saturday morning, no I’ll effects until I went to bed at 10 o’clock when I felt a little bit off, woke up at 1am & felt like I was having a bad very dose of the flu & high temp couldn’t sleep the rest of the night got up at 4:30 with my head thumping was like it all day Sunday paracetamol wouldn’t shift it this went on until late Monday morning couldn’t do a thing all day…….felt a lot better by Monday evening though…….can’t understand it as the first two covid jabs didn’t affect me at all, someone told me they reckon it’s because the immune system is fighting both vaccinations at once don’t know if that’s true but sounds feasible.

I've had several flu jabs in my life (get them free with work if they ever have any left, otherwise £12 at boots). Never had any side effects from it.

1st dose Pfizer in January, nothing.

2nd dose Pfizer in May I think it was- was hot and feverish and felt rough within 12 hours.

I will be offered a booster Jab soon I guess but fully expecting it to make me rough again.

My understanding is that both covid and flu can be done the same day but in different limbs.

Having had two Pfizers, what will your next one be? I had two AZ and fully expect the next to be Pfizer with a small chance, I think, that Moderna will be the one.
