This is what i found whilst hedgecutting this morning. Gates locked and concrete blocks in front of them yet they still manage to dump s#*t. Anyone else finding this a real problem at the moment?

No no no - they weren't dumped in the field but on the nearest verge where it would be the councils responsibility to dispose of them!:cautious:

Tyres are easy to move. Muckgrab and nearest gateway ;) however tarmac and tree cuttings in the next field a bit more annoying. Just so happens there is a caravan site down the road. Looks like a butlins holiday park, i think we all know the sort that live there

We have a huge problem with fly-tipping currently, not just in field entrances or fields but even on the lanes themselves, blocking all traffic until the council clean it up.

We also have an abundance of caravan dwellers in the area.

Just coincidence, I'm sure.

My local council recycling site has changed hours. It's now open 1000-1600.

I was there today and at 1601 the gate was locked and the boys were off home. They threatened to lock me in if I didn't stop unloading and leave immediately.

I'm sure such hours and attitudes don't help when it comes to fly tipping.

Chadwick lane two or three years back they set fire to the conifer cuttings in the lane. Then backed the next load on. Hedgecutting contractor witnessed it from the field.
The wife has also cycled with friends near there this summer and helped a lorry driver clear the tree prunings off the road so they could get through.:(
I gather this autumn at Dunley they drove across a wheat field and left deposits where ever it took their fancy:banghead::banghead:
Luckily I don’t Farm there, but the antics do spill out into the wider area:woot:

Lanes round NW Leics are often used, especially some of the narrower cycle routes/single trackers. They just lift the tipper and drive off fast and leave it in the middle of the lane. Needs draconian measures to stop it. Seize & crush vehicles, ban the drivers and bill them for the clear up.

I drive a grab lorry for someone on the flytip contract and what there dumping is getting bigger
28tonne of contaminated soil from a soil screener in the middle of a lane
40yard skips worth in the middle of an A road
1 oclock in the morning 2 days running same people dumped full transit worth of tree surgery waste very busy road had to be cleared up in the middle of the night
The fly tips thay require a grab lorry ratger than just 2 litter pickers in a transit i i kon cost the council about £1000 a time

The EA has the power to seize and crush https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/vehicle-seizure-notices However, their prosecution process is dire with poor investigations that allow far too many to get away with it.
