It’s a palatable, high energy feed. So yes, as a part of the ration, and if the price fits, allowing for the DM%.

Would you feed it along with silage or straw and does it need chopped

be fine washed then fed wet

I fill the Tub feeder with beet , then I fill with water , turn on the pto and a minute later open the door a little bit to let the water out. Then chop the load and I let it out then at the silage pit and then put in as much as I need , the tub feeder will not chop a half load, it has to be full to work right.

if youre feeding white high dry matter beet there use more energy trying to bite them than they get out of them!

we sell 3-400 tons a year farm to farm about half of what we grow , about 50 miles east of you. go 30 miles north of us and you could sell all you could grow, its all about location!

Over rated for finishing imo, really needs cleaning, washing and chopping, is low DM and no starch, and needs protecting from frost, but cows and ewes milk well on it.
