fogged headlights sanding method not working

Got a Copart car in the workshop that has fogged headlights and advisory on MOT so following loads of youtube got the variants in sandpaper but its now worse. Tried all sorts to clear them now they look more fogged. What can I do as need to sell on.

I used to have good success when in the garages using 3M’s own head light polishing kit. Was in a briefcase and had its own airline powered polisher with different heads and tubes of polish.

Never tried with sand paper

have heard of people using toothpaste and a rag

very very fine wet and dry paper , or 0000 wire wool

the tooth paste works on mildy foggy lamps

This Auto Glym kit worked well on our Freelander

Brasso will polish up glass, fairly removes rust runs and discoloration as well. It won't remove deep scratches but will polish glass back to clear with a lot of elbow grease....

What car is it, have you priced new headlights, makes the car look so much better.
I've found the polished up ones soon seem to fog up again

I would think that sandpaper would feck them up completely.
Toothpaste or this stuff works for me.

G3 and a electric mop with plenty of water

Tried the toothpaste method, not sure it was that effective, though there was a slight whiff of spearmint at night.

Did the plastic lights on my Transit with toothpaste and a wool buffer on the drill, worked fine.

G3 Pro Scratch Remover... The liquid, not the paste. By hand with waffle pads and bit of water always worked for me.
