Yes.
As long as I can out together a year round grazing plan.
What about running an outdoor pig system, fair few big estates have those or did?

It is true.
Go to a French supermarket and look at the veg prices. A cauliflower will be 1.50, carrots 2 euros. Aldi do them at Xmas for 19p
We have the cheapest food in the world.
My workman (60) talks about how he was one of 5 boys and in the early 70s they used to eat 2 bags (50kg) of spuds per week. His parents used to get the split spuds off my dad and feed the family with them.
They would also eat marrow every day when in season, stuffed.
basically the mother made sure they were well fed, which would be quite a challenge for 5 growing boys
Too much capital to invest in infrastructure. What about running an outdoor pig system, fair few big estates have those or did?
Women would have worked up until they got married after that they would have stayed home raising their kids. Up to the 1960’s there would have been little in the way of home appliances no washing machines or driers no microwaves or Hoovers plus families were bigger. Looking after a family was work in itself . They might have taken seasonal work such as potato picking but it’s only relatively recently that married women have been able to work.Is not the truth though is it? Women always worked, mortgages were irrelevant for most people.

Wake up ffs .Get you heads out of your arses. You have nothing to suggest what you say is true.
My mother lost A job she loved the day she got married , my parents said when policy change of banks taking two wages for mortgages life changed for ever for many some positively some negative , fast forward to today And folk ask where it all went wrong ? Dont suppose one single thing just cumulation of events and time …. Things are crap in alot of ways but my god it could all be worse … alot worse and i doubt soceity has ever really been that great .Women would have worked up until they got married after that they would have stayed home raising their kids. Now is possibly not the time to be getting into pigs, IMO.What about running an outdoor pig system, fair few big estates have those or did?

society has altered, times change, and not always for the better. Daughter could say a few things, she is a reception teacher !!!!! Every year, the kids are less able to be 'independent'. And there is only the parents to blame, both working, child minders etc, the kids are not taught the basics at home. Friend was a private school teacher, kids sent to board from 8 yrs old, parents, expected the teachers, to be 'stand in parents', and teach the kids, the 'basic' rules of life.Exactly. Back when I was very young, only my father worked. Only one car needed. Only one wage needed to support the household. As a result, we had more time with direct parent input. Today, kids don't have that. No time for parental input with homework. Less family time in general, more splintered marriages and families. More truancy, substance abuse, child abuse, mental health and other issues which society collectively ends up footing the bill for.

Ive already posted it in the cropping section, but this summarises who we are, what we can offer and what we're looking for.So what you need is a big estate somewhere to say here is 1500 acres of cover crops, please graze your sheep on them and pay us some money?
Not really it depends on lots of factors. Our kids started boarding at 5 there was no other option if you wanted them to go to school. Obviously you could home school but we aren't teachers. They went to UK at 13. It cost us a fortune but it's money well spent in my opinion. Bad parents generally have bad kids it doesn't matter if they go to a comprehensive school or public school children are a reflection of their parents.I am not sure I would send a child away at the age of 8. That is terrible but I know all too well that it happens. Wealthy couples sending their kids away, to a hugely expensive private school in a foreign country is a thing. Awful.
No I’m afraid your the one who needs to wise up to reality but guessing by your posts you strike me as the kind of person who doesn’t take other opinions.Get you heads out of your arses. You have nothing to suggest what you say is true.
Its a shame the way things have went for great many people .Exactly. Back when I was very young, only my father worked. Only one car needed. Only one wage needed to support the household. Obsessed with money consumerism housing market etc and forgot about quality of life.Well, banks make more money, big business makes more money and houses are worth double or triple if not more than they were. Is society any better off? It's not like anyone's pension or savings are worth a damn now.
And those who want to focus on quality of life get knocked down as lefty alternative hippies.Obsessed with money consumerism housing market etc and forgot about quality of life.
When I was young my mum and dad worked, my mum and dads parents (both) worked. As far as I'm aware my great grandparents had jobs and/or took in piecemeal work. Ever was it thus for the working class.Exactly. Back when I was very young, only my father worked. Only one car needed. Only one wage needed to support the household. That's not true in 2020 75%+ of women 24-45 were in full-time work in 1975 it was 57% go back in time it would be even less. When I was young my mum and dad worked, my mum and dads parents (both) worked.
