don't think there's much difference between any of them, politics today, is treated as a career, for most, the big decision is which party to choose, at the start of their career, swopping parties, isn't seen as a good idea.

my mothers aunt and uncle lived in a tiny terrace house with outside toilet and one cold tap , the place was immaculately clean they had sloping floors and a black n white portable tv , oh and a huge allotment , they never had any money but never moaned they used to keep while family in fruit n veg and were the happiest content people i have ever known ! I envy them ! They lives well into 90s , just content with their lot and eat like kings ! The uncle used to go to the pub and drink half pint as all could afford but never complained happy with a half … ive never seen anyone drink half pints for years .

Do you really envy them though?

They were content because they had no other option.

Would you be content with having only the money for half a pint and having to grow all your veg, having a shi.t outside?

(actually the latter is quite satisfying, but not in a city)
No , but im a multi millionaire and still not reached contentment if i become a billionaire i still wont , they were and for that reason i envy them because most of what i have indont actually need it ! I just want it so go out and work until i have it , they had no want , do you not understand that ?

Sort of understand it but I think laced with a bit of paternalism.

Would you envy someone on the dole who went to the food bank as long as they were content with their own lives?

Id envy their contentment yes as i suspect i will never reach it, the only people i have ever met who i would say are truely content have very little as they have not had discontentment to drive them forward .

Food banks back in the news tonight because of the COL crisis, woman in tears thankfull for the food, thick as shite and got five kids and counting ffs! I hope they are lacing the food with birth control tablets
That's the thing, for whatever reason a lot of people are 'thick as shite' maybe it's their fault maybe it's not, perhaps it's just the circumstances they were born into but there are a lot of people out there with nothing and not much chance of getting anything.
What do you do with them?

Im old enough to remember the 3 day week in the early 1970s ( i was at school then), when the country had days without any electricity? miners were on strike, brought the heath govt. down? and other hard recessions up to now? It just seems to me the population has got so soft over the years, and far less self reliant? people years ago, many were dare i say poor, but many were proud and either didnt seek i want govt. handouts? Many people worked multiple jobs, children also helped by doing work such as paper rounds etc etc etc to help their families, farms back then could easily find casual labour, people could earn some partime money and also go home with some milk, or potatoes etc, whats happened?
Life became more complicated and you can’t just ‘get-a-job’ you need a CV and a heap of f-ing ‘references’ and your £1 is not really worth 50p now so you have to earn more and and and. Meh!
I run two jobs as an old git and just the weekly accounting takes up most of my Sundays. 😡

You are in the position you are in but for the grace of god.

Only takes a small number of changes of circumstance to land up in the same situation as her.

Stop criticising the person, blame the system, and count your own blessings.

There's still plenty of jobs that don't need CVs and references for those who look.

you are right,
but, for those stuck in the benefits system it's bloody difficult to climb out of it and sadly food banks have become an integral part of the problem.
The paperwork and hoops associated with universal credit, housing benefits and other state/local charitable assistance means it is a viscous circle which is difficult to escape for many.

I just dont get why people who cannot afford to buy food for the kids they have, carry on breeding more, its the same in some of the poorest places on earth but they have plenty of outlets in the uk for obtaining birth control which they dont have in the desert or jungle.

Help them but persuade them from adding more mouths to the problem

How do you know she wasnt on 60k a year when she had her kids?

Or perhaps she had a long term partner, but the relationship broke down.

Or her husband died with no life insurance..

You just dont know.

Yes, there are but there can also be a lot of reasons why people can't/won't get those jobs. For some it could just be location or the fact they have someone they have to look after, or they're just not capable of doing the job.
I'm not saying there's no broken arses who scam the system out there, but I don't think it's as simple as looking down on folk and saying, why don't they just sort themselves out and stop breeding.
