Footpath problem

When I was a kid the nearest 'town' was about four miles in a straight line and six by road; now we're maybe fifteen miles from a proper town, for what that's worth. I've family and friends who farm on the outskirts of Luton, Ayr, Aberystwyth, Minehead, Bedford and more - Luton, from what I've been told, is the worst by far and then, to my surprise, Minehead - maybe holiday-makers?

I've no idea if the woman in question is 26, 66 or anything else other than that she's a woman, by herself. (y)
I worked on a farm on the outskirts of Luton 50 years ago. The only nuisance from the general public was the 'doggers' parked up on the farm tracks. (tho' they weren't called that then).

So what actually are the trespass laws relevant to this sort of situation? If you ask someone to leave and they don't then it's a civil issue I guess, reasonable force allowed to remove them too but I suspect it is very difficult to pin down what exactly this could mean.

So when does trespass (civil court) become aggravated trespass (crim court)?

If someone becomes threatening/abusive when you confront them because they are off a ROW?

Yes, as soon as they don't follow your request to return to the public right off way, ie footpath or road, it would usually be considered aggravated however if you are too heavy handed in helping them off your property it may be yourself who if refusing to accept a "caution" from the police and it will stay on file that you refused. 🤐🤐

I wouldn't fancy accepting a caution for common assault either (n)
