footpaths

I can't understand why people are not allowed out into the countryside for a walk. Going for a walk in a crowded town would be far more dangerous. Round here they are coning off laybys.
Probably fine in an arable area etc, literally flocks of people hanging around us while undoing gates is not the same, we have asked politely in the use of signage but its made no difference.
I fed the sheep before light this morning to try and avoid the 1st wave of people. just about to start the 2nd flock outside and will be with sheep a lot more.
Told a chap to sod off last night, parked on private farm track gone to see the lambs, had to tell him to back off when he walked up to the gator.

The towns are not crowded, some villages have organised activities for children to do on their daily walk, looking for things in peoples windows.
They have been told only essential journeys, how is a trip out with the kids essential, it just one more car for the police to check. It will end up everyone has to stop for a pee, and you can just about guarantee none will have taken pack up. Then what happens if they break down?
We have seen more walkers, fortuately they do not cross our land, normally they never make this far and we are about half a mile from the village
Its great people like getting out in the country, myself loves walking, regularly walking up in the lakes or down on the south downs. Now is not the time for a jolly out.....

I've been going through the new law and my opinion is that any L.A. officers declaring that they don't have the power to close paths through farms are talking b*llocks.

Unbelievable amount of walkers about, all with dogs in tow, mostly off the lead. One wonders where the hell they usually walk their dogs as there are at least 10 times the usual number. Dreading turning lambs out tbh.

Surely this is the best opportunity farming's ever had to show the British public we're a great industry.

Whilst keeping your 2 metre distance you can kindly explain what you're doing to feed the nation. Thank them for their interest and politely say you need space to work in.
Obviously you have no experience of what happens in reality.
I tried to explain this yesterday and got serious abuse

That's just wales though. I wonder if it's the same in england.
I only tankered for 3 hrs yesterday and counted 5 cars full park up on a completely private track and go for a walk down the footpath. I dont want to challenge these people anymore as the last lot didnt know about keeping there distance from me resulting in a quick window up job.

I'm sorry to hear that.

And I do get it; I make a point of smiling and waving in the nicest possible way to everybody I pass whilst doing my stuff. Some I get nothing back from (f--k them), others wave and smile. I'm not going to stop trying.

Many yers ago someone told me I can be a drain or a radiator. I will always be a radiator!

Lambing and calving here plus all all of the extra hassle with this, worrying about virtually everything. Getting abuse off people who have traveled 40 miles to come here to get lost isn’t good

And I really do understand the stress of what you do, and what you do is an amazing thing. and many will never really understand that. However if you choose to be positive then that will rub off on many.

I'm sorry for any of you who have paths through your yards
They should be closed
I'm lucky to only have the walking along the road
Funny how they all seamed to stop yesterday when I had a small miss hap with the back door on the tanker
