Thanks for watching it all
aye, maybe a bit harsh of me i guess i was disappointed that i didn't see the whole job speeded up then slowed down at the important bits. did you film it on your phone? if so it was good. but don't mind me i'm one of these retired old farts who couldn't do what you have done.

I was going to do that but there's lots of bits of me going missing on the phone and generally arsing about so it wouldn't have filmed well but I will keep it in mind for future clips of it.
It's filmed on a go pro

I remember when ready mix lorries had a Major engine to drive the barrel. I suppose nowadays they're hydraulically driven?
Yes the donkey engine disappeared a long time ago with improved hydraulics and more powerful truck engines.
What made the Thames compressor version different is the Major engine also propelled the vehicle.

I never got to drive a major .There were many Dexter's still doing the scraping out when i worked on farms and a mate had one still in service up to a year or so ago so i did a bit on them.I remember going a small farm sale Holmes Chapel way late 80's/ early 90's and there was a nice 6 pot major in the sale that someone had converted .
I don't know what it made as we went look at a baler and left before it sold.
