Yes i have sown Forage Rye on Bonfire Night and been strip grazing in march. Forage Rye is a far better soil structure improver than westerwolds so long term is a useful crop

Used rye for grazing 3 times and then left to goto ear and cut as dry cow fodder.

Expensive but has always out performed Westerwolds. Cheaper than buying silage for me.
