Ford 3930 rear end oil

Hi

Friend is giving a service to charity owned 3930 8 speed. Is the gearbox all in one with the rear end on those models. I seem to have a vague recollection some of the 1000 series were separate? I assume a good SUTO will be adequate?

Separate compartments but using the same oil type in both. 10W30 SUTO will suit pete.

Thanks Agrimax. So the dipstick at the back he has found, what about the gearbox level?

I think it may depend on which gearbox.Just below or to the front of the seat on the left side,a plastic fill plug with the dipstick attached or beside the gearlevers... a metal plug with a stick attached.Although it would likely be obvious if it was the second one...
