Hi.i have a ford 4000 and fuel tank has started to leak fuel.it has rusted through any ideas. Thanks

A replacment tank the new ones fit really well.... not!!!
Ive also in the past removed tank steam cleaned out
Brazed holes up then tank sealed it from inside
A replacement tank isnt expensive if its just a working tractor be good enough and a quicker turn around

Also if its got a cab you have to chop and weld filler neck back on the new tanks

No but the filler necks are still wrong on the good quality new tanks

Good results from Isopon resin (the stuff for the fiberglass)
Clean the base of the tank inside thoroughly, with pressure washer and or petrol.
Allow to dry after cleaning. Mix and pour in enough resin to "wet" the inside of the tank.
Keep moving the tank, (if you took the tank off) and just before the resin sets hold the tank so you get a good covering over the most porous areas. If you have big holes, use masking tape on the outside so the resin just doesn't run out.
If its still on the tractor, it will be harder to clean, you might need a paintbrush on a stick to get the resin to the desired spot on the base of the tank.
If its not clean it wont work ..................

Yes, it work well, did one back in 2005 still fine.
If in doubt do an old paint tin for practice.
Dont forget to keep moving the tank until it sets you only have a limited time after mixing the hardner, maybe 20 minutes.

I send my fuel tanks off to a radiator specialist who was able to pressure test them, repair any leaks, blast and paint the outside and they used some form of sealer on the inside of the tank too.
I used Brownlow Radiators in Craigavon but im not sure where your from to recommend anyone.

I've used this stuff to great effect before on a motorcycle tank

Good wash out with petrol.
And brake cleaner if possible, dry tank throughly, slosh around inside.
