Ford 4600 4wd tyre sizes

Just got a ford 4600 fitted with the carraro front axle, would like to know the optimum tyre sizes front and rear to minimise axle wind up on firmer ground. Also oil for the axle and hubs- SUTO or EP? any help and sources of info would be appreciated

Would guess if you have 13.6x36 on the rear,then 11.2x24 would be right for the front.
@Ransome Cowboy would be a knowledgable chap on these but he hasn't posted for quite a while...........

Aye 13.6x36 and 11.2x24 would be standard size. What size is on her? SUTTO or UTTO for axles and hub. Make sure there is oil in them. They would have a habit of oil running out of the axel faster than you can pour it in!
What cab is on her?

A mate of mine has had a 4600 4wd from new, the rear tyres on that was 12.4 x 36, not sure what the fronts are, but could find out.

Could be 13.6r38 on the rear,we had a County 4000 four with that and 11.2r24 on the front,thinking about it this is a Ford so probably 36s still with 11.2r24 on the front.

Thanks for getting back to me, At the moment she's fitted with 16.9-30 and 10.5-20 but there on there last legs, any advice? as for the oil thanks for the tip

The 2wd 4600 is fitted with the 16.9-30 as standard and don't really want to have to find new rims... so what size on a 20" rim at the front

36" wheel is the standard for the 4600, same as the 4000 that came before. I take it your tractor has the 6 stud rear axle ?
Are the rear wheels solid or are the centers bolted to the rims, the 14x30 major wheels were a favorite to put on the 4600 as the 16.9 x 30 were slightly smaller than the 13.9 x 36 so didn't bugger the top speed.
You could use 4000/4600 36 " wheels on the back, not sure where you could find fronts from. If your wanting to match tyres @Nearly brings this tyre chart out quite often

Look at going up to 18.4 30 on back and find front to match?
16.9 30 would be an easily available size though.
You might find someone swapping the fronts on their modern JD?

I did manage to get some front row crops yesterday too.

Still looking for 16.9 34 rears though.....

Thanks for the help but its not a metric equivalence table I'm after its confirmation that the tyres are the correct size, I've googled several photos and the carraro axled 4600s seem to have a standard rear tyre and a larger front tyre/rim which was my concern, is mine right or the photos...

Download this BKT TR 135 (R-1)
Then you could work out the difference between standard tyres and what you have on it atm. Your rear tyres ar smaller than the standard 36" rear wheel, so they have put a smaller front wheel to match, I would imagine they have been on the tractor a while and not caused a problem.

Ford matched 11.2x24 with both 13.6x36 and 16.9x30. I've never seen 20" rims on any tractor that size, most would be on 24" rims. If you want to keep your 20" rims the closest you're going to get is a 12.4x20 but it's a bit small. 13.6x20 looks to be the right size but I can't find anyone that makes them.
