Hello Does anyone know what would be the problem as to why the temperature gauge doesn't work and the fuel gauge doesn't work properly? Some years ago the fuel pump was blocked and we got Russells (Agricultural Dealer) to deal with it. While they were doing it they managed to short the battery and to the present day the temperature gauge, fuel gauge and brake lights have stopped working.

I've checked and the temperature gauge doesn't move but the fuel gauge moves but doesn't show an accurate reading.
There is a 5v voltage stabliser to run the gauges on the back of the cluster.

The temp sensor is most likely faulty, but check there is 5V at the terminal first.

I've similar issues with a 4000, and have a new one on order at the moment- £90- but would rather get the old one working.. Not got so far as the temp and the fuel yet, but do have a new volt regulator to hand.

Seems like the receiver for the cable from the dyno has worn away- so the cable no longer drives it. Popped a torx bit in the hole and connected that to cordless drill and the tacho and hour clock turns fine.

Took it to a vehicle clock refurb specialist fairly local, thinking google had turned up trumps, and found me someone like the specialists on the repair shop, who were going to do it for a song.... Turned out it's quite a lucrative sector to work in- the display case of rebuilt Ferrari clocks in the reception suggested they weren't used to dealing with ex scraper tractor clocks... a £400 quote later (inc £150 to repaint the face by hand), and I was on the Agriline website...

Easy to check temp remove sender wire just below thermostat housing on engine and turn on ign short wire to earth gauge should move to max, same on fuel gauge, but if it works to check sender unit, you may well find float missing remove from tank and connect wire, hold sender on earth, ign on and move float arm up gauge should follow,
