ford 4610 gearbox problem

I have a ford 4510 tractor which has been an excellant tractor it has started to have a gearbox problem, when i put it in 3rd gear as soon as i release the clutch it pops out of gear also in some of the other gears if you hit a big bump it comes out of other gears as well. Ha sanyone got any suggestions

If it has column change check your linkage, if you get wear or slap it may not be pushing the synchro over centre enough.
If it is also crunching it may just be the synchro’s starting to wear out.

Here is parts diagram, I would also check cab suspension bushes and support rubbers if these are badly worn it could affect shift levers more so on rough ground, if after this it's still a problem i would check detent balls and springs under gearbox top cover...

Hi eamesconstructions@activ8 did you get Gearbox sorted? if so how?
Have similar problem with 5610, it wont stay in 1st or 3rd gear, its a two shift column gearbox. Any suggestions?

If you have a lot of free play in linkage sort that first or top off box may be as above worn selectors shafts and balls.
