Has anyone fitted a trailer brake to a Ford 5000? Can the 10-series attachment be fitted to the pre-force axle? I've heard that it was an original option on the 5000 but must have been rare.
Got one like that on my Ford force 5000 you don’t need the tractor brakes much if trailer brakes working properly .That's very interesting, never saw that before. It would be nice to add a linkage to that lever to link it to the foot pedal somehow. Seems quite cumbersome to have to operate foot and handle simultaneously.
Wondering if you could help- lost all hydraulic power on a 5610- no oil flowing through the trailer bake block, should this be constantly flowing? Is there a valve stuck?well, I guess you could get a 10 series kit off a breakers and "make" it fit....not sure on the legalities of it all......
This is from the 10 series training manual

I assume a q-cab yes brake valve has priority if no oil pressure undo pipe from main hyd pump that feeds brake vale don't force it off start engine and oil should be forced out if not something wrong with pump or more likely splines worn on shaft and drive in centre of flywheel that drives pump and pto if that wont drive as well then it's very likely.Wondering if you could help- lost all hydraulic power on a 5610- no oil flowing through the trailer bake block, should this be constantly flowing? Yes, useless.Anyone remember the petit kit. Another pedal bolted on to one brake pedal and a cable from that went to a valve fitted to a spool valve with a return pipe and constant flow. As the pedal was pressed the valve sent oil to the trailer brakes.
Absolutely.Yes, useless.
