Ford 655 Backhoe hydra lock.

Hi. Anyone come across a backhoe with seized lock clamps on the backhoe? Top clamps release ok, one bottom one moves a fraction but other one will not budge. I find it hard to believe that the cylinder can seize so solid that it won't move at all but again I can't see the pivot pin being so seized that it can hold the weight of the digger. Tye clamps have had the sledge hammer treatement to try and it looks like the next option is gas torch around the pin!!!

Yes you will need to warm the hinge pin with gas very common to seize up

I though it would be the case, thanks. This is the first one we've had that's done it but I bought it as it had reasonable low hours, was very tidy and in good nick. A lot of things were seized due to lack of use!! Extender pedal, 4wd lever, diff lock, handbrake, seat.....

Had similar on a NH85, they operate in the other direction, they seemed tight from new and the longer it wasnt moved the harder it was to move. One day we managed to free them off by lots of penetrating oil and working them on and off, I think the pipe was disconnected first to get them completely in, they are just a short stroke ram really.
