Ford 6610 stuck in neutral

The ultra reliable old Ford 6610 has finally let me down. Backed it up the side of one of the buildings to unload a trailer full of gates, got back in and its decided not to go back in gear. It was running all the time and in neutral on both the H/L/R and the splitter. Its the splitter that won't move. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.

What type of gear change on the tractor?
I had an old IH 885xl once that did that regularly and we always had a hammer and cold chisel in the cab to bang the selector forks away from each other.
Possibly something similar but a) I’m no mechanic and b) I know that 6610 gear shifts came in a few variants.

If it's SQ, the rubber bush could have popped out on the gear linkage......but the avatar looks like a first gen 10 series ?.
A splitter ???? Duel Power nothing to do with the gear levers ????

Look under right side cab if it has rubber boot will be in two half's remove lower part and check linkage chance's are bush's have come out of support if so remove linkage as necessary clean bush's and support and locktite back in, use locktite for bearings, and leave to set, linkage gets dry so grease linkage if necessary, if you find nothing wrong then it's internal and top of box will have to come off and with flat deck cab no cover in floor so cab off or split it...

It's A reg 1982, so I think its one of the early ones. I am probably wrong referring to it as a splitter as it it a second gear lever on the column shift offering two speeds and neural. It also has the rabbit button on the dash.

It's a column change job so it goes straight down into the box.

Rubik cube completely different remove the covers from around steering wheel and check top linkage if that's ok check where it go's into top of gearbox if you decide to remove gearbox top cover not something i would recommend you do unless you have done one before because getting it off is ok but putting it back on is another matter ford's made a special tool to do that but can be done with a worm clip has your one been modified ie: main gear lever is h pattern to change gears it should be because fords did a lot of them to change to this pattern and i at one time had several kits but all scrapped now.

Thanks for that. Big gear lever definately isn't H pattern unfortunately, so here's hoping it's the top linkage!
Cheers

Out of all the troubles we had with a column change 6610 the main lever was reliable but worn and moved around about three miles!!! It was the H/L/R lever that other drivers would jamm in gear by selecting a non existent reverse in the high position!!
