Ford 7600 4wd Value

Evening all, we are thinking of trying to buy a 1981 7600 4wd off my mate, but not really sure what to offer him? I was using it today at his and she is in good shape mechanically, although with 4wd engaged there's a noise, bit of play in shaft may be the problem?
Started 1st turn of the key after being parked up for around 2months. Clutch, brakes, lift controls etc all good. Needs an exhaust manifold. Cab needs tidied and tractor resprayed but would be an ideal 3rd tractor for us, would be more use than the 3000. Any idea on price? Clock is showing around 5000 hours but who knows if it's true or not

Theyre a good old bus really, cab rot doesnt look too bad on that one, though it needs a window! I'd maybe be having a chat with your mate before broadcasting pics of his yard over the internet though! Love the top link pin! What do you intend using it for? Not the best in confined spaces, or on the road. Looks to of had some spool lever modifications?
Hours could be genuine, the front wheels are pretty well straight up, whereas on really high hours they can lean in at the top when the swivels get worn.
One locally of the same age ran to 14000hrs before it went off to get a suntan, the same farm has a belter of a 2wd 7600 a year younger that still works every day. Lovely old tractors for occasional use, not the place for a 14hr day though.
Value? £4000 or thereabouts.

Would have thought you'd get something with a bit more comfort and bit nicer condition for few grand more??

We had been thinking 3500-4000. Window is there for it, hinge broke one day so it got taken off. Only reason spools got modified was to make it handier for buckraking but easily removed. It's mean uses would be carting muck and shifting the digger and a few odd jobs, wouldn't be doing it full time as that's what 8210 and T5 are for, would just be handy for if the other 2 were busy we could use it but ATM we can't use the 3000. Plus it would be bit of a project

Bit of a rarity that (y)
Powerplus 7600s wouldn't be that common never mind 4wd ones
Original engine?

You do realise that if that schlinder axle goes wrong, it will cost more to rebuild than what the rest of the tractor is worth

and before anyone starts shouting....the above advice applies to ANY brand of tractor fitted with either a schlinder, kramer or selene front axle

parts are bloody expensive, more so than carrero axles, which are not that cheap either

Good to see it in its working clothes, obviously hasn't been knocked about.Either that front axle has been rebuilt or the hours are genuine,it has to be worth 5-6k as it is.I would love one for occasional summer use to stick in the back of the shed,i would prefer the County axle tho...

Yea she hasn't been abused too much but that's why I would like to buy her, to save her getting abused. If we do buy it and axle goes we have considered just converting her to 2wd, not the pure thing to tho.

First one I've ever seen. Neighbour has a 76 four, and I've seen a 66 and 4600 with Shindler conversions.
Wanted to buy a 6600 Shindler at a farm sale in 1985/6, but dad wasn't keen. We bought an 885xl instead.:asshat:

Get it bought.(y)
That's if he sells it, when he 1st bought it he kept trying to sell it to us but we weren't ready but now he might not sell it as he says it's the only tractor that earned him any money last year and the one he didn't have to spend money on :ROFLMAO:
