I’ve only changed the shaft together with the flywheel coupling when both are worn or spun round. The box has to come out to remove the circlip on the end. Have I missed something serious and that the shaft will come out the back somehow?
If it has load monitor it has to be split at the axle because the pto pack touches the load monitor

Well you might aswell fit the 7.5ltr 6 cyl and be done with it then!!!

Powerstar swap are not that straight forward though!! Battery tray wont fit without using original inlet manifold, the injector pipes will then not pass said manifold!! Injector pump needs a live ignition feed to stop solenoid, front pulley and water pump will need swapping over and just as you think you’re done the 2wd sump wont clear the balancer!! Oh, and the helix gears on the powerstar crank are cut differently to the original therefore the original balancer won’t fit!!! If you go for the 6 cyl the balancer wont be an issue but a 7810 inlet manifold will be needed and the 6 cyl timing gears are different and therefore wont match up with the powersteering pump!!!!
Why not a 14 litre Cummins o_O
The 7600 was a 4 cylinder turbo, it's natural Powerstar successor would be the 4 cylinder turbo 7740, not the N/A 6640

She's tidy! Has the oil cooler pipe along the rh side of engine ever been cut lots of them have lazy mechanics fitting clutches. We have a 6600 since new over 7k hours original untouched engine and still on original clutch feeds cattle with feeder on 3 point linkage everyday. Cab is starting to get a bit ripe
where about are you gruffalo as I see tractor has Shropshire registration and you may not be far away

Yes has had 1 clutch in 1995 and the pipes were cut.
Can you post pictures of your 6600 please. We had 3 of them from 1976 to 1986

Warwickshire. Dad dealt with Oakleys (and Ravenhill) as they always offered a better deal than our local dealer, I was 4 when we had the 7600 but I think Oakley's offered a better deal for the one new as the 10 series were about to be launched.
