What he knew and what he told me may or may not be the same. I knew it was in need of tidying up and the cab was rough. Mechanically I was told it was ok but brakes needed adjusting. A test drive in his yard confirmed this. However when it arrived with me I discovered (when using it to put a hay bale in the field) that 4wd did not work. I also discovered that the hydraulics which I had seen working only worked off the assistor ram on the spools and the arms only dropped to horizontal position roughly and were too high to fit the chain harrows and discs. When I went to adjust the brakes which would slow you down but not stop you they were adjusted up fully. He did offer to drop the price to compensate but I need a 4wd tractor that is usable now. This is great for someone to spend some time on and make into something tidy but I did specify that I needed something to use now.
In the meantime the old faithful 4610 is coping with all the harrowing and rolling for another year.
