Ya made sure of that, flat side to the flywheelThe rod's meant to be bent. Another rod for the safety interlock should be attached to that hole.
You can't go wrong with the pilot bearing and release bearing, so that leaves the clutch plate and /or adjustment. If it's the correct plate, have you reinstalled it the right way round?

She’s soaking in wd40 at the moment, hopefully she will move when I get homeWind the Clevis off the the rod (lengthening it) to get adjustment with new clutch
