I have a 1994 Ford 7740 with about 8500-9000 hrs and recently there does a be a pool of engine oil on the ground when i turn off tractor after the tractor has been running a while, the oil comes out of the steel breather pipe down side of engine(injector pump side) every time i stop the engine. Is this normal? Or what Can i do to fix this? Thanks

Certainly not normal. Is it just engine oil. coolant might be leaking in and raising the oil to the top and it’s flowing out. Might even be diesel that’s coming in from a lift pump or injector block. At some point it going to die from lack of lubrications so fix it first.

Does it spit oil when running

The really bad ones had an 'oil catcher' piping it back into the sump.
We have never owned one but a valley nearby had about ten farms with at least one,all from the same dealer and I saw one being fitted. Just a flat steel sheet with cutouts for rockers etc. Fitter said they were only fitting them on problem ones, which seemed a bit tight to me because it was only a ten minute job

Dont think coolant or diesel leaking in is the problem because oil is going down on dipstick not going up due to it coming out breather pipe

Remove breather tube, rubber grommet, then using qa small hook tool remove filter wipe clean where it fits and fit a new one [do not wash and refit old one] refit other parts this should stop a lot of oil, as stated a catch can can be fitted to return oil to sump if bad, i made several different types for Fords when this problem started.

Is it a SL with the aux pump on the side of the block?
I'd one went the seal and it was dumping rear axle oil into the sump till it was spitting it in the most spectacular fashion.
I've got various 40s at 16-17k hrs and a bit of dampness round the breather pipe is the extent of it.
If its got that bad crankcase pressure, she must have really worn/glazed bores, or broken rings maybe.

No my one is an sle, it is running fine otherwise only for the engine oil spitting out breather pipe
