The cold start button on our 7810 will not stay pressed in and has to be held in when starting then released when the engine fires. Is this an easy fix?

I assume you move throttle lever to max before pushing in button, injector pump will need to be removed and end plate removed to get at linkage if you have never touched pump before i would suggest you take it to specialist...

With the tw the difference using cold start is quiet noticeable without it it chugs away and takes an age to start, but put on cold start button and within 5 seconds it’s started.

but like 7610 super q said a reduced gear starter is the way forward we just put one on our 390 that wouldn’t start without a fight and it’s completely changed it. Fires up first turn of the key always now.

Excess fuel when it works as it should makes a world of difference. We had a 6610 with an inline pump years ago and I have a 655 with one aswell. We had two Countys at work with excess aswell which woukd only start with it in cold weather.
Is your oump lubricated off the engine oil or separatel? If it’s seperate then check the level and then flush it few times with clean oil and fill right up.
