Ford 7840 no hydraulics

Tractor just quit moving. No hydraulics/linkage working. Transmission oil pressure light on in dash. Power steering working perfect. Changed all filters but no better. Tractor has closed centre hydraulics. Any thoughts?
Thanks

No engine pump then. There is a valve that drops out under the side cover but it shouldn’t effect the linkage, been a while since I did one![emoji23] the new filters you’ve put on, is the pump filling them with oil?

If spool coupler has not closed properly, have known it possible to draw air in if in float and cause symptoms like this.

Try massive over filling the oil in back end, just as a test. Then restore to correct level.

Just an update. Plugged a hose into spool valve and tried to pump oil into drum. All of a sudden it started to pump oil. A bit foamy at the start but soon cleared. Tractor now working perfect. I guess it had somehow air locked
Thanks for all replies

We have had this happen a few times with one of the scvs not closing properly so allowing air to be drawn in. Glad you’re sorted.

Where is this gasket? I have noticed that every time you press the button for a gear change or let out the clutch pedal the transmission oil pressure light gives a quick flicker on

Oil light flashing like that can be quite normal on the sle 40 series, even with a good gasket....
The gasket is on the control valve side plate where the transmission solenoids are mounted.

Hi I have a 1994 ford 8340 sle with no power steering . Low pressure oil light comes on the second you touch the steering wheel . You can turn the wheel once you rev the tractor. Is there another low pressure filter other than the one down by the pump anywhere or has anyone come across this problem before? Thanks

If it has the ccls pump, get a pressure check, easy to do just connect pressure gauge between one hose to power steering ram on front axle, eng 1000rpm max press 4/w/d 172bar but sounds like it will be low, which will be pump, i have never had problem with steering on these but it's just possible it could be the prv [in orbital motor that is faulty this can be checked by pressure checking pump to motor supply but remember gauge needs to be between the two and not dead head it as if you do it will blow pump........
