Ford 8040 SLE Lift problem

We have this Ford for almost a year, had a full gears repair, and then got a decent bit of work from it bailing 500 round bails of silage, using it now on a bil splitter but lift keeps going up and down when reversing. i have read the manual about setting the draft setting to 1 but it seems to make no difference to take out he movement . I think it is not our user error and maybe calibration needed, I guess this can only be done at dealership.? We have constant enough leaks from under the main filters under the right hand side of the cab, some have said to use that this model is notorious for doing this and just wondering is it a folly and waste of money and effort trying to get the dealership mechanic to try to stop this leek

Sounds like loose wires on draught pins

Thanks for replays , sorry it is the Ford 8340 SLE power star, it has the shift up and down gears on top of the leaver and all electrics with electrolink lift. The error symbol on the dash is the manual symbol and the slip limit on light on the panel for the lift settings on the right hand side stays on. We were using with a bail splitter so good few movements on the lift and almost afire splitting every second bail the lift would just freeze and would have to stop and restart the tractor to get lift working again. People tell us engine is really good, if after cutting 3 bails it would loose say 15cc oil visible on cardboard under tractor but it works hard for 20 days in the year agitating and bailing and the oil loss when parked up could be many times it and at a guess 100cc - or more or less , do you think that I would need main dealer to fix the lift if the problem is the draught pin and if that was straight forward would be happy with it. If it is like looking for a needle in haystack trying to stop them leeks and a waste of time as with Covid19 i think if i ask for too complicated or possibly long winded fix i could be without the tractor for well over a month goin on month and half. If lift could be fixed easy enough I would be happy enough and get tractor back as it is the only thing I have for working bailsplitter and the bails are not chopped and i find it a great tool. Gears repaired in full last year leaking this way beforehand and afterwards

Have you got drivers handbook , i would suggest you put edc in position control that will check if draft is at fault, edc pins are faulty an error code will show every time you start engine but lift will still work ok in position, if pins are faulty they are bl--dy expensive and if seized expect a dealer bill of 2k plus, i would suggest remove edc panel disconnect plugs, don't do this with ign on, then spray each pot [ variable resistor ] with brake cleaner while turning each knob let it dry then replace and check if any different if edc still plays about then get pump checked by someone who knows what to look for, if slip light still on it would need dealer checking as it could be the radar and or speed sensor on transmission, oil leaks ascertain exactly where it is leaking from, some can be cured by replacing o-rings from outside.

You can re calibrate the hydraulics on farm, I've done it a couple of times but our 40 series went 15 years ago so can't quite remember the procedure.
Try running an earth wire from the computer under the draft control dials on the right hand console straight back to the battery. The computer might need a re build at Dave King electronic's. Ours did eventually. Don't worry about the oil leak unless its gushing out!
Also running an earth wire from the computer behind the digital dash direct to the battery helps reduce the amount of error codes.
