Designed to sort the men from the boys :)
In the dim and distant past when i've had a go on the big TWs i always thought they were a right machine. That great long bonnet that went on forever and a high driving position was great. Yes the gearbox took a bit of stirring but once used to it it was one of the best crash boxes ever on a tractor.

But then all we had at the time was a certain brand of tractor built in west yorkshire so i was probably easily impressed.

And if your forebears hadnt purchased those, what would they have afforded instead

a pair of clydesdales and a single furrow ransomes YL?

everyone started somewhere, from the bottom usually, so stop fecking moaning about things what you had absolutely no influence in at the time. They chose them because of a reason no doubt, and probably a good one at the time.

Should have kept the Fiat 980dt or replaced it with another one. But hey ho can't always get these major purchase descisions right every time.

Even the Fiat was no match for something like a TW.
