I suppose that's a good idea the parts are universal ish. Had a good day with it on the postknocker today. Looks like I've solved the water leak problem. That's something I can't fathom out, the little pipe on the side of the pump, just seems ridiculous you have to take it apart to replace the pipe! Luckily some sealant and plenty of jubilee clips solved the problem.

Great detective work there Nearly, that's the one

My 8210 is the same, basically a 5000 back end
that means an 82 is 67 back end and not a 77 as well,81 used backend off 67 because no one wanted them as underpowered, then every one got this good 6 cyinder to put on foragers and did the pto in on them, fetched us one on demo and when they saw what it was going on it went back on lorry as no one wanted to use it on a trailer:)

A 67 and 77 where the same only a 77 had a turbo.....

can you fit extra plates in 8100 back end to raise spec?
wouldn't no these days, long time since i used to drive and mend them, wouldnt see why not:),they where the days when farming was fun, some thing went wrong on the phone to dennis at bushels,a talk thru what to do,then I either fix it or get as far as we could for him to finish it off and all with no mobil phones:D

Nearly; it's a good running tractor, just rough round the edges, the pictures don't really convey how much rot there is. I don't think it has done a lot of hard work in its life.

So the 8200 had a stronger backend on them than the 8100. What are they like with turbos fitted?

Not meaning to question you as I'm basing a lot of what I know in reading the online parts catalogue (yes it's sad but I get bored at times) but are you sure about the 77 having more plates In the PTO clutch?
just going by what we where told and sure it was in old leaflets and specs in operators book, never had a 67 had all the others and 81 with shindler axel on demo:)

Both parts lists (7700 6700)on NH site show 4 pairs of plates.

8100 not shown (might be on US page)
8200 shows 4 pairs, as does 8210
8700 + 9700 also 4 pairs

An interesting fact for a fellow saddo ;)
Apparently the PTO clutch pack on TLA /T5000s is the exact same as 1000/100/10s as are the brake discs
